In 2004, I visited Uganda, East Africa, where my family originates. I was with my father when a beggar approached us. My father gave him some money. I perceived that even though he was able, it is this mentality of his dependence on others for fulfilling his personal needs that continues to limit him from progressing. Yet, his country needs him desperately.
